The City Council allocated more than 24.4 million over 3 years to lower the bus fare to users (28/04/2010)

Murcia City Council has allocated 24.4 million euros in the last three years to subsidize the promotion of public transport and lower ticket prices to certain groups, regardless of question-urban lines owned or municipal- Autonomous Community.

After the meeting the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, representatives of the council, the council of the area, Antonio Castillo, stated that the City will protect the interests of employees, which have planned strike action at the infringements wage of the company.

The mayor has announced it will request an urgent meeting with the Autonomous Region, responsible for 60% of lines operating in the municipality to address the situation.

It also will outline a new model of public transport to unify the skills, change paths, frequencies, lines and rates.

Development is precisely the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan as a tool to effect a change in modes of transport in favor of public mass transit system for the benefit of urban quality, pedestrians, residents and cyclists.
