IU + LV in the city of Murcia has proposed to establish a civil ceremony to welcome the babies in the town and celebrate their placement as "new citizens" with the reading of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child United Nations.

This initiative, which has been presented to the next plenary session by the councilor of the coalition, Esther Herguedas, also seeks the creation of a registry so people can sign up and include a calendar day to be carried out ceremonies.

According to Herguedas, the city of Murcia "should make it easier for parents who wish to hold a secular ceremony welcoming new citizens as subjects of obligations but also rights in a democratic and secular society."
