Promote reading habits and celebrate outdoor spring in a pleasant environment are the two objectives pursued by a new initiative aimed at children and, through them, also to the elderly.
This is a proposal promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Municipality of Murcia, in collaboration with the Foundation CajaMurcia, coinciding with the commemoration of World Book Day.
From this weekend and throughout the month of May, the gardens of the city will become storytellers scenarios dedicated to children aged between six and ten years with the aim of encouraging reading, appreciation for the books and respect for urban parks and natural areas.
At the same time, while kids enjoy the storytelling, parents will be presented with the book entitled Readings in the garden, edited specifically for this activity by Ediciones Tres Fronteras, the publisher of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
This is an anthology of writers Juan Ramón Barat, Julia R.
Robles, Pablo de Aguilar, José Miguel and Santa Cruz García Belando Piqueras.
Readings are short, perfect for park users.
Thus, for once, are the children who come to read to their parents.
