Murcia hosts a European conference on energy efficiency in government procurement (23/04/2010)

Murcia will host next Tuesday and Wednesday, a European conference on the integration of environmental and energy efficiency in purchasing and procurement, organized by Ecoinstitut and 50% subsidized by the European Commission.

This initiative is part of the PRO-EE which is part of the multi-year program "Intelligent Energy for Europe 'of the Directorate General for Energy and Transport European Commission and the participating cities in Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece .

Thus, the Hall of the annex building to host town hall on Wednesday, from 9 to 12 hours, a technical conference will be complemented by a training session on Tuesday from 12 to 14.30 pm, and Wednesday, from 9 to 14.30.

These seminars are open to the general public but aimed at policy makers, technical purchasing and procurement, responsible for Local Agenda21 and government providers.

For its part, the training sessions are designed especially to purchasing managers and procurement of computer and office equipment, building maintenance and street lighting.

The aim is to develop appropriate criteria for public procurement that incorporate energy efficiency criteria to help alleviate the effects of climate change.

Moreover, in these days will be disseminated these policies and initiatives between those who make policy decisions and to train those who are responsible for the management and administration of public procurement in the different local administrations.
