The poems and stories of Denise Garcia will be heard in the Plaza de Santa Catalina (22/04/2010)

Ramón Gaya Museum honors this year, in celebration of World Book Day, the poet Denise Garcia.

His poems and stories will be the stars of the reading marathon, which begins tomorrow at 10 am and runs until midnight.

Thus, politicians, artists, writers and journalists, among others, will be responsible for reading in the Plaza de Santa Catalina fragments of works by Denise Garcia as' The words I know ',' The deception of the days', 'Sincerely yours ',' Imagination and forgetting 'or' Scattered Pages'.

Participants in the marathon reading the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, Denise's own Grace and her husband, Salvador Montesinos Berberena councilors, Porto and Barnuevo, the Minister of the Presidency, Pedro María Reverte, the Minister of Culture, Pedro Alberto Cruz The Director General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, and President of the Chamber of Commerce, Pedro García Balibrea.

Denise Garcia was born in Fuente Alamo de Albacete in 1929.

He lived there until ten years, moving later to Madrid and Albacete.

Murcia reached for a degree in Romance Philology.

After marrying Salvador Montesinos (his first teacher and reader of his writings), lived in different places in our country, wishing to return to the city he considered his, Murcia, where he has lived since the seventies devoted to literature.

He has written books of poems like The condensation on the mirrors (1976); Anthems (1978); Mnemosyne (1981); Voice life (1982), Interlude - From words and days - (1987), open daily (1989); know the words (1983); Places of way (1999), Even in the dark (2001), The deception of the days (2006); The tree (2007) or Sincerely yours (2008).

Among his publications can also find short stories and aphorisms as the Old and Matt (1985), Ideology Fall (1994), Long Farewell.

Enma life and work of Egea (1995), Imagination and forgetting (1997), Voices arrested (2004), Scattered Pages (2008) and E Interior (2009).

Part of his poetry has been translated into several languages.

In 1991 he was named corresponding member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Telmo (Malaga) and in 2000 the University of Murcia established a poetry prize that bears his name.
