The Archaeological Museum of Murcia, in the activities of the Center for Archaeological Studies, welcomed the conference tomorrow 'Piece of the month', dedicated to the restoration of the heraldic shield presiding over the front of the mill belonging to the Lopez family-Oliver, in Aljucer hamlet of Murcia.
The paper, by the Technical Centre for Restoration, Javier Bernal, will take place tomorrow Wednesday at 20:00 pm in the auditorium of the museum.
The rehabilitation was conducted by the Center for Restoration of the Region of Murcia and consisted of analytical, sampling, mechanical and chemical cleaning, biocide treatment, modeling of missing coating gap, chromatic reintegration, protection and application of water repellent final .
In total, the intervention process had a budget of $ 3,000.
It is a shield made of limestone eighteenth century, designed for the facade of a building.
The condition was very poor and had the natural deterioration over time, as erosion, mildew stains, tears, loss of support, salts and microorganisms bloom, among others.
