The president of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, today placed the first stone of the new Health Centre of Murcia Aljucer hamlet, in the construction and equipping the regional government will invest 3.4 million euros.
This infrastructure, built on a plot donated by the city of Murcia, is designed to serve a population of 15,000 inhabitants, which provide health care to the new district health-Aljucer Murcia, which emerged after the refurbishment of the former zone health of the Barrio del Carmen, which is part of the Health Area I-West Murcia.
The Aljucer Health Center is located between Church Street, Senda Altar & Garden and will cover an area of 3,624 square meters, will be distributed on two floors, and will be completed within 12 months.
Valcarcel, who was accompanied by the Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, and the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, said the construction of this center is an example of the work we are doing to respond to the needs of citizens, because, he said, "there is no social investment efforts made to improve the health and care for citizens."
The site has an area of consultation, which will have eight family medicine, two of pediatrics, one of dentistry, a dental hygienist, eight nurses, with one child, a minor surgery room, nursery room, two additional visits for extractions and priests and 10 modules waiting rooms.
The area of women and social work will have an antenatal clinic, social worker's office, multipurpose room and two waiting rooms.
Be prepared to offer the services of maternal education, preparation for childbirth and family planning, as well as child-care program.
In addition, with an area of exercise therapy, consultation with a physiotherapist, four boxes of treatment and two waiting rooms.
These facilities will link the premises for staff, administration area and general services.
The center also will have a data network, which will allow the use of computerized medical record.
This internal computer network connects all departments together and with other healthcare facilities.
Improvement of health infrastructure in the city of Murcia
The Ministry of Health has planned a number of other health infrastructure in the municipality of Murcia.
Currently under construction is the district health center in San Juan (Murcia-center), and are pending adjudication center works of James the Greater and Florida, as well as the drafting of proposed new center Sangonera the Green.
