World Congress Universitario Juan Pablo II `the Great ' (24/03/2010)

The UCAM host 14 to April 18 World Congress Universitario Juan Pablo II `the Great ', in tribute to the life and work of His Holiness Pope John Paul II, chaired by the prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, Cardinal Antonio Cañizares.

The University president, José Luis Mendoza and the rector, Josefina García Lozano, accompanied by the Bishop of Cartagena, Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes, presented this morning the official program of the Congress during a press conference held at the Palacio Episcopal Bishop of Cartagena Murcia, Archbishop José Manuel Lorca Planes positively highlighted the celebration of this World Congress dedicated to the figure of John Paul II.

The prelate has expressed support for the conclusion of this initiative of the University and has encouraged all the faithful, to follow the example of the Pope for young people, opening wide the doors to Christ.

"The fully UCAM has opened the doors of this house.

I am extremely happy to host exercise of the Catholic University and so many brothers, cardinals, archbishops, bishops and priests from around the world who participate visit Murcia to mark this event, "he said.

For his part, President of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, he explained that one of the responsibilities of the Catholic University as an institution and missionary evangelizing universal vocation is to work with the Church in spreading the love of God, through the holding of international conferences such as this.

"We want Murcia become a focus for the Catholic faith and culture in the world, so this symposium will be broadcast live via the Internet worldwide," she added.
