Professor, University of Murcia and director of the Laboratory of Optics of the same, Pablo Artal, has been elected president of the Academy of Sciences of the Region of Murcia.
Artal has published over one hundred and fifty research papers that have received more than four thousand quotations, which makes him one of the most influential scientists in optics.
He has received ten international patents and has co-founded two technology companies.
Pablo Artal is a pioneer in the study of optics of the eye, and several research results have been incorporated into tools used in Optics and Ophthalmology.
As secretary general of the Academy has been chosen CEBAS research professor Carlos Garcia.
