Development awards geological studies and mapping for the works of arterial railway network Murcia (15/03/2010)

The works are designed to study the terrain in a set of 7.9 miles of the Red Blood City Railway

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, today announced that the Ministry of Development, through ADIF has awarded contracts for the implementation of projects geological and hydrogeological mapping of the Red Blood Murcia Railway, railway enclave will the entry of high speed in the city.

González Tovar added that the total amount of the three contracts awarded amounted to 1,119,146.3 euros (VAT included).

These studies are preliminary and necessary step for the construction projects of the Red Blood Railway (RAF) of Murcia.

Refer to the following actions:

1 .- Geological Survey Drafting Geotechnical, awarded in the amount of 379,815.9 euros (VAT included) to the joint venture company formed by Uriel Geom Associates and Levante.

2 .- Service contract to carry out mapping, awarded amounting to 27216.5 EUR (including VAT) the company Caribersa.

3 .- Hydrogeological Study Writing, awarded by 712,113.9 euros (VAT included) to the joint venture formed by NIP, Cones and BYA.

The above awards are funded by the Murcia High Speed Society, established following the agreement signed between the Ministry of Development, Government of the Region of Murcia, Murcia City and ADIF for the remodeling of the arterial network in Murcia Railway, which will the entry of high speed and therefore the reform and improvement planning of the railway environment.

Blood Red Murcia Railway

The Government delegate pointed out that the Red Blood Murcia Railway comprises a 7.9-km route, which runs along the existing rail corridor from the exit of the station-Murcia-loads in the hamlet of Nonduermas-up connection variant rail access to Murcia.

Includes the following actions within the agreement of the Company Murcia High Speed

• Integration of rail access in the city of Murcia, which includes the undergrounding of the existing rail corridor between the future Barriomar Round and the start of the new variant of access to the city of Murcia (Reguerón variant) in the Los Dolores.

• Replacing the current Murcia del Carmen Station for a new intermodal station, which includes the construction of the functional elements common to the railway station and bus station, without prejudice to the allocation of their own spaces corresponding to each terminal.

• Depression rail corridor to level the underground section between the future Barriomar round and the town of Nonduermas.

• Burying of a stretch of about 500 m at the core of Nonduermas.

European funding

The new High Speed Line Madrid-Castilla La Mancha-Valencia-Murcia Region is integrated into the Strategic Infrastructure and Transport Ministry of Development (PEIT) for the years 2005-2020.

Within the Community Support Framework 2000-2006, the total aid granted by the European Union's new high speed line to amounts of 575 million euros from the Cohesion Fund, 125 million euros from the European Development Fund (ERDF) and 48 million euros from TEN-T funds.

For 2007-2013, the Cohesion Fund within the Cohesion Fund Operational Programme 2007-2013 ERDF co-part of the online platform with 726 million euros.

The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Operational Programme of Valencia 2007-2013, the Operational Programme 2007-2013 Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia 2007-2013 Operational Programme co-finances various sections of the platform and supply and installation of track and facilities ..
