Cortes Street on Sunday celebration of the City Half Marathon Murcia (13/03/2010)

The main streets of downtown will remain closed to traffic on Sunday morning for the celebration of the XXXI edition of Murcia City Half Marathon, which will bring together more than two thousand runners.

The start and finish will be located in the Avenida Pío Baroja, so that this avenue and Artist Almela Costa will be cut to traffic from 6 to 14.30.

Participants will collect their accreditation and chip in Hall Infante.

The run course is totally urban, through the main streets of downtown.

Riders may choose to participate in the Half Marathon (21,097 meters) by the whole circuit twice, or go just one lap of the circuit (10.3 km).

The traffic courts are the following, as scheduled by the organizers of the race:

-Avda.

Pio Baroja and Painter Almela Costa, 6 to 14.30.

-Avda.

San Juan de la Cruz, from 9.45 am to 12.45 pm.

-Pablo Neruda, from 9.45 to 11.25 hours.

Infante Don Juan Manuel and Bridge Hospital, 9.50 am to 11.30 pm.

Infante Juan Manuel, May Day bridge and Mayor Jorge Palacios, 10 to 11.35 hours.

"Paseo de Garay, of 10.05 to 12.25 hours.

Red Cross-Plaza and walk Lieutenant Flomesta, of 10.05 to 12.20 hours.

Tornel Martínez-Plaza, Gran Vía, Plaza Fuensanta and Jaime I of 10.10 to 12.20.

Gran Via, Alfonso X, Gutierrez Mellado and José Tapia Sanz, 10.10 to 12.15.

-Avda.

Antonete Gálvez and Fame of 10.10 to 12.10 pm.

Infante Juan Manuel, Princess and Santa Joaquina de Vedruna, from 10.20 to 12.45 hours.

The race is organized by the Athletic Club Murcia, with the collaboration of the Department of Sports City of Murcia, headed by Miguel Cascales, and Eroski.

The test will be played in ten categories for men and seven women, divided according to age.

Trophies will be given to the top three ranked athletes in each category, as well as prize money, TV, Wii Console, heart rate monitor with GPS, Tdt with DVD, MP3 player and stays in a hotel.

Participants can register on the web http://www.camurcia.com .

Fifty cents of each entry is donated to the NGO Association Mamush Ethiopia.

Also established a collection of nonperishable food for Caritas of Murcia.
