Improving mobility, energy efficiency measures, waste management or water management, are some of the areas in which municipalities can implement actions to steer the city toward a sustainable future.
The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, made the remarks yesterday at the first Green Forum organized by the Popular Party of Zamora and attended the counselors of Castile and Leon on the Environment, María Jesús Ruiz, and Regional Administration, Isabel Alonso.
House claimed that the Central Government "increased funding" intended for municipalities to provide the necessary resources to enable them to undertake plans that allows it to be sustainable and provide better quality of life for its citizens.
The mayor, who just a year ago picked up the prize awarded to Murcia City Development, has stressed the need to be aware of the potential role of municipalities to maintain and preserve the environment because most of the European population lives precisely in cities.
In this regard, the Chamber noted that "the effort you are doing is working and that is reflected in increased quality of life of people."
