The Socialist Group in plenary defend the permanence of Christ Monteagudo in his usual place (25/02/2010)

The spokesman for the PSOE, José María Alarcón, has shown a clear and forceful defense of the monument, a hallmark of Murcia, as well as rehabilitation and enhancement of the monumental castle of Monteagudo

PSOE spokeswoman, Maria Jose Alarcon, said today in full, once again, his most forceful rejection of the removal of the sculpture of Christ placed in the castle of Monteagudo by the residents of Murcia in 1926.

House denies the ownership of Christ to neighbors

Thus, Alarcon has called on the motion proposed by the socialists who, immediately, start the appropriate legal procedure to declare the monument as the town commons, since they were neighbors of Murcia that once the expenditure defrayed that was carved sculpture and installation, so the above statement can only carry out own town.

"By refusing to accept the request of the PSOE, has said Alarcon, the PP has refused to recognize officially the property of Christ is for the residents of Monteagudo and the City of Murcia."

Similarly, the Socialist spokesman has called in the middle of the three relevant administrations (central, regional and local) to work together to achieve the recovery and restoration of monuments of Monteagudo.

Partisan interest

The PP has voted against all points of this initiative and has rejected the settlement proposal offered by Alarcon sought the consent of both political parties on an issue that for the socialist spokesman, "has again been used by House your equipment and party, putting forward the interests of the PP to all Murcia. "

In this sense, Alarcon reiterated that "from the Socialist Group will continue to demand the municipal PP to protect our heritage above all, to help put in value to generate wealth and employment in the municipality."

Faced with the rejection of the PP, the Socialists have supported the proposal submitted by the Popular Party, with one abstention, as proof that the PSOE will not go into wars and other policies in the unconditional support to Murcia.
