The Faculty of Law, University of Murcia has presented today at the Rectory the research group "UMU IURIS" which serve to transfer and disseminate to society the research done at this university.
"IURIS UMU is a transfer group, composed of professors from the Faculty and directed by the former dean, Esperanza Orihuela, provide services such as drafting legal opinions and reports, document review, development of law studies and jurisprudence, organization of training courses and even pre-legislative studies.
These services are available to practitioners, professional associations, businesses and governments, which may find application forms on the website http://www.um.es/umuiuris/index.php
The site offers the ability to select the teacher who wants to make the request and collects the minimum rates for each service, which will be based on its complexity.
The dean of the Faculty, Faustino Cava said in the presentation that this group of transfer will help make visible the research being done in law and reaffirms the commitment of the center that leads to society.
The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, said that initiatives such as UMU IURIS can help reverse the gap that occurs between research production in Spain, where the ninth figure in the world rankings, and the transfer of research results which goes to the place thirty in the ranking.
Cobacho said that this project was created to compete with professional bodies, but to support their work.
The Vice Chancellor for Research, Juan María Vázquez, and the coordinator of the Results Transfer Office (TTO), Fernando Martin, also present in the act of Convalescence, highlighted the support of the institution to initiatives like this that help make entrepreneurial universities.
