Antonio Martínez Mengual is the author of the poster XI Murcia Three Cultures International Festival this morning was presented by the Councillor for Culture, Fátima Barnuevo, in the presence of the artist from Murcia.

Based on the original idea of Jorge Fin-authored the first bill of the festival, to represent the palm, olive and cypress as symbols of the three cultures, Martínez Mengual has made a series of twelve original, under the common idea of joining the three trees at the same point of origin to reach the final work in which premium cleaning the drawing.

The vermilion points used as primary color, the source of life and unity of the three cultures, in the words of the painter.

The image of three trees is the basis on which they have devised the lineup of other artists like Jorge Weekend Editions, Pedro Cano, José Lucas, Alfonso Albacete, Angel Mateo Charris, Willy Ramos, Christopher Gabarrón, Miguel Fructuoso, Muher and Pedro Serna .

Is defined as self-expressionist, though in its infancy admires the Impressionists.

Artist that starts with groups of artists in the sixties and part of the first sample of Contraparada Art in Murcia, with the group 15 +1, has always been interested in artistic events that make the best of contemporary art Region of Murcia.

His long career began with his first exhibition in 1975 in Ankara Gallery of Murcia, "ink drawings."

But since 1981 when his work became known in galleries and shows as "Arteder" in Bilbao, or Arco, where he reported in 1985, 1986 and 1987 Chys Gallery.

In parallel, he began his work with the art group "Spyral."

After further exhibitions in 1989 he met the poet Francisco Brines and prepares a sample of his poetry under the name "Autumn Roses" on display in the Palace of Almudí.

This exhibition opens a turning point in the way they work, to poetry as a new source of creation.

In 2004 he illustrated the book "The Enlightened Rosa Negra," a selection of poems by Brines, with getting the first prize of the Ministry of Culture published the book better.

In 1992 out in the Seville Expo in 1997 in Chicago, in 1998 in France and a year later, he traveled to Florence Biennale.

Then come other shows such as "Odyssevs" at the Palacio de Murcia Diaz Cassou, and others in the Almudí Palace in Gandia and Leon.

In addition, Martinez Mengual has illustrated books, as published by the Foundation and publisher Cajamurcia give "The Magic Lagoon" and "Caravaca, land of light" and handbills of courses organized by the University of Murcia in cooperation with Cajamurcia Foundation.
