Work is now in the signaling of the other two: that which unites the Ñora Monteagudo, Murcia and Murcia.

The Gentle Way project has a grant from the Ministry of Public Works also provides for signage, design and installation of interpretive panels which indicate environmental or cultural values along each route, developing brochures and conducting guided tours for specialized monitor on different routes.

This project will not only meet the travel needs of the population through a sustainable mode of transport like cycling but also valuing environment now undervalued and underutilized.

In the municipality of Murcia, owing to its predominantly agricultural have developed over the centuries an extensive network of garden paths that connect the different towns.

Currently they have gone from providing a service primarily agricultural and residential to provide alternatives to the various main routes of communication between districts and the city of Murcia.

Because little is known of the population have low intensity of motor traffic and preserve important scenic, cultural, recreational, wildlife and botanical developed over the centuries and which have their origin in the actual historical development of the Garden of Murcia.

The distances, perfectly acceptable to be done by bike, poor motor traffic and environmental values that have make them suitable for expanding their use by cyclists in their movements.

The Gentle Way project aims at promoting the use of non-motorized transport modes, especially the cycling, using the traditional network of garden paths to their movements between different villages, providing them with the necessary conditions to improve their safety and movement allowing a rapid, healthy and safe, thus offering valid alternatives to the use of motorized transportation connecting population centers close to each other and with the capital.

The main objectives pursued with the Friendly Way project are:

Condition orchard lanes to allow its use by cyclists in their movements.

Promote sustainable mobility.

Decrease the use of private vehicles.

Promoting safe non-motorized transport.

Disseminate high places in the municipality of environmental concern, social, cultural and landscape and encourage conservation.

The selection of orchard lanes has been based on the following main criteria:

Maximum safety for cyclists and pedestrians.

Routes have been chosen very little traffic.

Functionality: We have chosen medium-length routes in low and communicate major population centers.

Length varies from 2 to 9 kms.

Routes that run through areas with significant natural, cultural or social.
