The International Festival of Youth Orchestras this year marks the twenty-ninth edition.

For the present, to be held from 22 to 27 March, is expected to attend nine orchestras, including the National Youth Symphony Orchestra "Jose Artigas" in Uruguay and the String Orchestra of the University of Karlstad in Sweden.

Two other Spanish orchestras come to our region this year: the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Almendralejo OSCAM Mérida (Extremadura) and "Adolfo Salazar in Madrid.

The remaining five others are from various parts of the Region of Murcia: Symphony Orchestra Conservatory of Music of Murcia, the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca, and the String Orchestra of the Conservatory Music of Murcia.

With XXIX editions, the International Festival of Youth Orchestras is a unique event that, since the early 80's met in the region of Murcia, on the eve of Easter, thousands of young musicians of the nationalities more distant, strengthening partnerships between them and the fans of classical music Murcia.
