The most visitors recorded was the Museum of Science and Water with 57,146 entries
Visits to museums in the city of Murcia have been increased by more than 17% from 2008 to 2009.
In total numbers, during 2008 there were 176,987, while the following year the figure reached 207,452.
The center received more visitors in 2009 was the Museum of Science and Water (57,146), followed by Mills River Area / Stables (37 209) and the Museum of the City (36,413).
In the year of its tenth anniversary, the Museum of the City has recorded the highest annual increase, from 21,159 to 36,413 visits, representing an increase of over 58%.
Municipal museums offer visitors not only exhibitions, but there is also a wide variety of guided tours, musical performances, workshops, courses, workshops and activities for children.
All these initiatives help to bring in a more direct, culture and Murcia all tourists coming to our town.
In addition, the Department of Culture participated since 1996 in celebration of International Museum Day and since 2005 in the Night of Museums, in both cases the first municipality in the region to commemorate these anniversaries.
During those days are organized many events with the aim of highlighting the role of museums in society, making them closer to the public and involved in their evolution.
