Public Works improving the road linking the southern ring of Murcia to the South Coast and the hamlet of Santo Angel (05/02/2010)

The Director General of Roads of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, Jose Guijarro, today visited the works to improve the road to Santa Catalina, RM-F4, which connects the southern ring of Murcia, South Coast and parish of St. Angelo.

The action will increase traffic flow and traffic safety on a route by passing approximately 3.4 million vehicles annually.

The refurbishment of this road are being carried out between zero and three miles, mainly in urban sections located in the nearest route to Santo Angelo.

This project will help improve communications in the city of Murcia with the hamlets of the south, specifically Santo Angel, La Alberca, the Shrine of Fuensanta Algezares and El Palmar.

The director general said that "the design of this road, which has a budget of 254,153 euros, will provide the inhabitants of the hamlets of southern Murcia few trips more comfortable and fluid, and a significant improvement in road safety target priority of this action. "

Mainly, the work of preparation being carried out on this road consist of paved road.

It has also rehabilitated the bridge located on this road as it passes through the Regerón, which are being renovated guardrails, handrails and curbs.

Furthermore, it is proceeding with the installation of reflective reflector to improve visibility for drivers at night and reduce the risk of accidents as well as refinishing and replacement of signs islets horizontal, vertical and beacon.

Guijarro said this action "demonstrates the regional government interest to drivers to ensure maximum safety and comfort while driving on our roads."
