The City Council will adorn the streets of Murcia with a proposed replacement of trees (03/02/2010)

The project has a budget of 290,000 euros and will employ nine people

Murcia City Council will hold a draft replacement of trees in streets, gardens and access roads to the city through a collaboration agreement with the Regional Employment Service and Training.

The initiative, approved today by the Governing Board, will have a budget of 290,000 euros and will employ nine people.

The implementation period is nine months.

The work will target the replacement of trees needed in alignments of streets, and the planting of shrubs.

All ornamental plants come from local nurseries.

This project, the Department of Environment and Urban Quality, will take place in the annual campaign to reposition itself rooted trees and bare root.

Proceed with the beautification planting of shrubs at the nodes, Murcia entrances and exits to the highway and / or bypass.

The actions carried out are:

- Opening of holes and planting trees

- Staking and protection

- Irrigation

- Planting of shrubs at entrances to the town

- Conditioning of drip irrigation lines

The species planted will include: Tipuana tipu, Brachichiton populneum, Citrus aurantium, Washingtonia filifera, Washingtonia robusta, canariensism Phoenix, Phoenix dactylifera, Laurus nobles, ligustum lucidum, Casuarina sp., Banana Hispanic, Pinus pinea, different gross and succulents, perennials and shrubs.

The areas covered by the project of replacement trees will be The Rane, Fleet, Infante Don Juan Manuel, La Fama, La Paz, San Basilio, Santa Maria de Gracia and Vistalegre.
