The FROM develops in canteens of schools in Murcia Campaign to promote fish consumption by children (01/02/2010)

The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, announced this morning that the Fund Regulation and Organization Products Market Fisheries and Mariculture (FROM) is developed through workshops in gourmet school canteens, the Campaign for promote children's consumption of fish 2009/2010.

Throughout this week, various schools throughout the Spanish geography (A Coruña, Badajoz, Puertollano, Elche, Gijon, Granada, Guadalajara, Huesca, Madrid, Malaga, Murcia, Salamanca Santander and Valladolid) will host these workshops, for children aged between 7 and 11 years.

In the case of Murcia, the campaign held today at school, "Nicolás de las Peñas" (Calle Carlos Valcarcel, 3. Murcia), on Tuesday and Wednesday, at school, "Grove" (Street Warriors, 6. Fleet neighborhood. Murcia), and on Thursday and Friday in Our Lady of Consolation "(Calle Mayor, 1. Espinardo)

The FROM aims to bring elementary school children to the world of fish, by explaining the benefits of fishery products as the core of a healthy and balanced diet and getting familiar with its use, teaching them fun ways to prepare.

Gastronomic Workshops will be held during the school day, lasting two hours, and under the monitoring of two specialists who will prepare recipes whose main ingredient is fish.

Then proceed to the tasting of dishes and an assessment by the school.

The program will run until March 30, in order to be present in 370 schools and reached 50,000 schoolchildren.
