Five arrested as perpetrators of burglaries of Murcia (29/12/2009)

Agents of the Police Headquarters of Murcia belonging to the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police have broken up an organized group dedicated to commit burglary capital of Murcia.

The investigations, which have culminated in the arrest of the five members of the organized group, started from the information gathered through the work of control and prevention of crimes of burglary, which are considered of priority attention within general objectives of the Police Headquarters.

As a result of the above and data collected by the researchers after analysis of the circumstances and modus operandi present in some thefts in recent days, the research focused on a group of citizens from Colombia and Ecuador, which had infrastructure and facilities necessary for the commission of such crimes.

Thus, we learned that the previous sections investigated the site of action and moved to it in the afternoon, to see if the homes were inhabited or not.

Once they had ascertained that the house was empty, they proceeded to force the gateway using the same tooling as plastics, screwdrivers or crowbars, after which they agreed to and subtracted interior valuables there they found and introduced in large bags or sheets inside stolen from the same address.

The proceeds of the robbery was delivered to receptive of the same nationality, who subsequently sold them on the black market.

Once obtained all the necessary data, last December 5 was detained leader of the group, carrying out arrests of other members of the group on December 17 and proceeded to search the two houses they used, where large number of effects found in homes raided stolen by this group.

Among the items recovered include seven flat-screen TVs, seven laptops, seven cameras, twenty mobile phones and various jewels.

Detainees complained so far the commission of five robberies at home, all in the city of Murcia, although the investigation remains open and it is possible that due to the arrests and the seizure of the abovementioned effects be clarified further criminal acts attributable to the same group.

The detainees have been made available to the examining magistrate in Murcia Guard functions.
