Seven young chefs representing the municipality in an international meeting held in Turin (23/12/2009)

This exchange is funded by the Youth Programme of the European Union

Seven young chefs will showcase their skills by participating in a youth exchange on European cuisine 'Flavors of the World' held in Turin (Italy).

The seven young chefs, four boys and three girls, will participate in this initiative along with 30 other youth in the region of Piedmont (Italy), Mgarr (Malta) and Ceredigion (Wales).

The exchange will take place from December 26 to January 4 in Turin and will benefit young people to appreciate the various cultural and culinary proposal during this holiday season take place in the Italian city.

This project, coordinated by European and Youth Exchange Program and Employment Center of the City Council initiatives, is aimed at young people interested in Murcia knowledge of other languages and to experience other culinary cultures, while they relate to youth other countries.

This initiative complements your career development in the area of the kitchen.

Young Murcia, students Vocational Training Program of the Department of Youth and Employment of the City of Murcia, will become the 'Chefs of Europe', and prepare for all participants zarangollo traditional dishes, salad and potato omelette Murcia, among other delicacies.

In this particular young people share their culinary traditions by presenting the traditional and cultural cuisine of his country and knowing the kitchen of the participating countries.

This initiative is funded by the Youth Programme of the European Commission.

The activity will be in the region of Piedmont and participants will learn the typical foods of the area by visiting artisans, farms, etc.

Young people will see the production cycles, and test and prepare the products.

In addition, natural ingredients used to promote a diet that respects the environment and educate young people to eat healthily.

During the exchange, there will also cross-cultural activities, assistance to national cultural events, outdoor sports activities, theater games and games specially designed to raise awareness and learn the positive and negative effects of globalization on food production and distribution and EU's role in protecting health.
