The mayor called the highway linking Zeneta and the Mar Menor as a "strategic infrastructure" for the future of the parishes of East and Campo de Murcia (23/12/2009)

Besides shortening the route in 25 minutes from Murcia to the coast, offers an alternative to the Highways of Cartagena and Mar Menor

Mayor regrets the lack of commitment of the Government of the Nation, which has not yet approved the project for completion of the motorway, which bind Zeneta with the A-7, at the height of Santomera

Chamber notes that while "the Popular Party government reversed the progress and welfare of Murcia, the Nation continues to marginalize the citizens of the Region

The opening of the highway that links Zeneta with the Shire of Mar Menor is a "strategic impetus" for the development of the municipality and, more specifically, to the hamlets of East and Campo de Murcia.

This was highlighted by the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, in the opening ceremony of the highway that took place this morning, chaired by Mr. Ramon Luis Valcarcel, president of the Community.

The entry into service of this road-executed and financed with 111 million euros by the Regional Government, is, according to House, a "strategic project for the present and the future of the city of Murcia and infrastructure vital to the development of the parishes, which will be more accessible and permeable. "

The Mayor stressed the capacity of the new way to absorb much of the traffic that currently passes through the arterial network of the municipality, while considered essential to have a new alternative for the city's communication with the districts of the Country and region del Mar Menor.

In this sense, the road opens to traffic today offers a flexible means of communication with the coast as an alternative to the current path.

It is equally important to output and facilitate access to industrial areas and economic activity located in the East, as well as enhance the permeability of the center of town.

The autonomous region has earmarked about 11 million euros in building the road, with 29.4 km and will reduce from 20 to 25 minutes travel time.

In addition, expected to absorb road about 3 million vehicles a year, indicating the social and economic profitability of the work.

The Government of Argentina continues to marginalize

The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, recalled that the autonomous region has invested 22 months in implementing this work, the Ministry of Development, at the time, not even approved the project which will complete this section of highway, linking Zeneta and Santomera where it will connect with the A7.

This circumstance again highlight the "commitment" of the Popular Party government, headed by Ramon Luis Valcarcel, to invest in the progress and welfare of Murcia, opposite the opposite attitude of the Government of the Nation, "which continues to marginalize the Region and its citizens. "

Moreover if one considers that the agreement whereby the Ministry of Public Works undertook to make the stretch of highway Zeneta-Santomera was in 2006.
