So, could only save the child.

In recent years, due to its value, the piece has only been exposed to the faithful during Christmas.

The rest of the year was still kept in a safe.

The restoration of the Child has encouraged the creation of a new brotherhood in Sangonera that from now on, recall the ancient custom of bringing the size of households in the parish by Christmas.

The rehabilitation process has been undertaken by the Centre for the Restoration of Autonomous Community, under the direction of Francisco López Soldevila.

The report of the restoration is emphasized that the piece was made in the last third of the nineteenth century and represents the naked boy covered with a light blue loincloth.

Restorers of fine polychrome highlights with a brush on face and hair, and flesh tones and cool in the body.

Undoubtedly be ascribed to the parameters set by Francisco Sánchez Tapia, given the link between the sculptural repertoire of that artist and some carvings in the town of Sangonera La Verde, without forgetting those technical resources so typical of the imager of the nineteenth century follower Salzillo, such as the softness and delicacy of carving and flesh tones, respectively, without forgetting the wake of the teacher always live in it.
