The University of Murcia and the institution of Ombudsman of the Region signed today at the headquarters of the Rector, an agreement to collaborate on matters of academic, welfare, cultural and research relevant to society Murcia.
The Ombudsman for the Region of Murcia, José Pablo Ruiz Abellán, said in the signing ceremony, which will cooperate in all matters relating to the protection, defense and promotion of fundamental rights.
Ruiz Abellán said today formalized a partnership that had been ongoing since the recent birth of this institution, and that it complies with this agreement, the expectations I had for this year with regard to collaboration with organizations and government.
The rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, rightly referred to, in his opinion, to create the figure of the Ombudsman in the sphere of autonomy, given its role as guarantor of fundamental rights and meet the demands of citizens in their relationship with administrations.
The chancellor said the agreement will help to publicize the Defender from Murcia society and highlighted the excellent relationship between both institutions.
The signing was also attended by Deputy Defender, Raimundo Benzal, general secretary of the Ombudsman, Joaquín Rocamora, and the Vice Chancellor for Institutional Relations and Health Sciences, Manuel Vidal.
