We are here today, organized by the Civic Platform in Defence of the Archaeological Heritage of San Esteban, exercising our freedom of speech and demonstration.

Porque, como ciudadanas y ciudadanos de una sociedad democrática, exigimos ser oídos y tenidos en cuenta por nuestros representantes.

Because, as citizens of a democratic society, we demand to be heard and taken into account by our representatives.

Lamentablemente, nos hemos sentido tratados como adversarios, como antagonistas políticos, primero insultados y luego retóricamente celebrados, por los gobernantes de la región y los de la ciudad, que no han querido en ningún momento llamarnos al diálogo, escuchar nuestras preocupaciones, atender nuestras demandas.

Unfortunately, we have been treated as adversaries, as political opponents, first insulted and then concluded rhetorically, by the rulers of the region and the city, who did not want at any time call to dialogue, listen to our concerns, meet our demands .

En definitiva, nos hemos sentido ninguneados por nuestros propios representantes, cuya obligación es escuchar la voz de la ciudadanía.

Todo ello al amparo de insostenibles coartadas técnicas, que no han sido sometidas al escrutinio de la comunidad científica y de expertos independientes, una práctica que contraviene lo establecido por la legislación sobre patrimonio histórico y que, lamentablemente, es habitual en nuestra comunidad autónoma.

No vamos a hacer aquí la lista de los innumerables destrozos criminales que hemos padecido en cada uno de nuestros pueblos y ciudades, de los que el último ejemplo consumado ha sido el grave atentado contra el Castillo de Lorca, también promovido desde el poder local y regional.
