The device starts this weekend and will be active until after Reyes

Nearly 200 police ensure the safety of Murcia during this Christmas.

This weekend has launched a special security device that, like every year around this time, organized by the Department of Traffic Safety and the City of Murcia, who heads Nuria Fuentes.

El notable incremento del tráfico durante esta fechas, tanto en el centro urbano como en la zona norte en torno a  los grandes centros comerciales de la ciudad, además de que se celebran numerosos desfiles y actos dedicados a pequeños y mayores, hace necesaria una mayor presencia policial en Murcia.

Traffic

The mobile units is one of the highlights of the Security Appliance for Christmas.

They focus their action on the preferred ways with particular attention to:

- Regular and ease traffic on roads that are under construction, with special attention to the tram works.

- Avoid double rows of vehicles.

- Ensure respect for handicapped zones.

- Avoid parking in bus stops and bus and taxi zones.

- Control of parking in loading and unloading areas.

- Ensure respect for sidewalks and pedestrian areas.

Otra de las actuaciones que se llevará a cabo será un Plan General de Tráfico por el desarrollo de actividades comerciales en fiestas de Navidad y Reyes 2009-2010, tanto en el casco urbano como en la zona comercial norte.

El servicio ordinario, que ya se presta durante los sábados y festivos con comercios abiertos, se verá incrementado durante la semana con 14 agentes, en la zona centro, y 20, en la zona norte.

En función de la intensidad de la circulación, otra iniciativa que se podrá desarrollar será el Plan “Onda Amarilla", mediante el que habrá puntos de regulación de tráfico establecidos de forma secuencial, en los que el conductor irá viendo agentes de forma continuada a lo largo de su itinerario, con la finalidad de proporcionar a los vehículos la máxima facilidad de movimientos.

También habrá un Plan específico de tráfico por desfiles y Cabalgata de Reyes.

En este punto, la Policía Local destaca la atención y colaboración que se prestará a los siguientes actos con repercusión en el tráfico:

Santa's Grand Parade:

el día 19 de diciembre, a las 13:00 horas, con el itinerario siguiente: C/ Cronista Carlos Valcárcel, Avenida Primo de Rivera, Plaza Circular (interior junto a acera), Avenida Alfonso X El Sabio (lado derecho desde la Plaza Circular), C/ Santa Clara y C/ Maestro Alonso.

Christmas Fantasy Parade:

los días  23 y 25 de diciembre, a partir de las 18:00 horas, con el siguiente recorrido: Plaza de Belluga, C/ Salzillo, Plaza Hernández Amores, C/ Trapería, Plaza de Santo Domingo, Avenida Alfonso X el Sabio (en ambos sentidos, con vuelta en confluencia con Avenida Gutiérrez Mellado ) y final en C/ Santa Clara, por lo que se ruega se abstenga el tráfico privado de circular por estas vías durante las horas de duración de los desfiles.

- Carrera “San Silvestre – Murcia":

Reinforcement of service

Since the dates of Christmas in significantly increased business in the city, resulting in substantial concentrations of people in relatively small areas, it has provided a specific security plan with the aim of increasing public safety.

One of the important dates for security is the night of 31 December to 1 January (New Year), which will strengthen the service, in the streets of Santo Domingo and Romea, both from the point of view of traffic in the vicinity and the safety.

Will also be present in the vicinity of the church of El Carmen on the occasion of the campaigns that are traditional in that place.

The specific schedule which will affect more coincide with the opening of shops: from 9:00 to 14:00 and 16:30 to 21:30.

And the preferred areas: Plaza de Santo Domingo, Alfonso X 'El Sabio' and vicinity, Silverware, Tatters, Gran Via and Carmen district.

Recomendaciones

A pesar del interés y esfuerzo de la Policía Local para normalizar el tráfico, no sería posible si no se contase con el apoyo y colaboración ciudadana, por lo que se aprovecha la ocasión para hacer un llamamiento en ese sentido y dar unas sencillas recomendaciones:
