The municipality of Murcia already has a pattern formed by a total of 436,710 inhabitants, January 1, 2009, a figure from the past year 2008 has increased by 6585 people.
The Plenum of the Corporation has approved this morning the annual review of municipal register of inhabitants of Murcia, dated January 1, 2009.
Of the total population, 179,246 are in the neighborhoods of the city, while the rest are distributed in the districts (257 684).
Note that the number of people living in neighborhoods of Murcia has seen a decline of about 200 inhabitants, while those living in hamlets are considerably increased, which shows that they are experiencing growth or municipalities have made people in central move to the hamlets of Murcia.
The number of registered foreigners is 59,470 people, compared with 55,672 the previous year.
The largest number of registered foreigners come from Ecuador (10,325), Morocco (13,300) and Bolivia (6504).
