Mayors required to participate in government revenue in an "equal and uniform" as envisaged by the Constitution (16/12/2009)

The FMRM Redmur21 has launched a platform to boost municipal environmental policies.

Councils in the region have adopted a resolution urging the Government of Spain to ensure that urgently to the reform of local financing, and take legal measures to ensure that all municipalities have access to participate in income State and the Autonomous Communities, on an equal and uniform throughout the country level.

This is a necessary requirement, regardless of the specific claim that each federation of municipalities to carry out the bodies of their region.

That is the position that historically has been advocating since the FMRM and also from the FEMP.

To date, no substantive reasons to warrant change or vary the position, but rather the contrary, it is time to send a firm message to the State to local authorities we will not be disadvantaged and forgotten in times of crisis who are living.

We participate in SPADES (Income Participation of the Autonomous Communities), but we have reports of independent experts tell us that this constitutional mandate must be regulated by state law.

Also, the General Assembly has agreed to establish a commission, composed of mayors from both political parties represented in the Federation, as well as its secretary general, in order to analyze the allocation of economic resources that address the economic and financial situation of municipalities , uniformly for all municipalities.

Will request an urgent meeting with the Presidential to find viable and effective ways to these problems.

The General Assembly held today by the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia has also analyzed the main activities carried out by this body.

In terms of training, has led to the realization FMRM of 47 courses, in which 880 officials participated, with 1,010 hours.

In the coming months is planned to provide another 44 courses, totaling 1,087 hours, to be attended by another 900 employees.

On the other hand, 36 municipalities in the region 106 reports have been requested to serve legal advice on matters relating to personnel matters, environment, agreements, land use, etc.

Also, the FMRM has hired 12 technicians for their office environment in order to support municipalities must assume from now on the environmental qualification skills, following the entry into force of the regional environmental protection law next January 1.

Also in this area, the Federation has launched the network of sustainable cities in the Region-Redmur21-a platform associated municipalities wishing to implement good environmental practices and encourage commitments from the point of view of sustainability environment.
