José Manuel Abellán: "The municipal PP does not address the needs of Murcia on transport, mobility and housing" (16/12/2009)

Councilman José Manuel Abellán socialist claims that while a study by the Institute for Research and Analysis entitled "Merco City" shows that one of the problems of Murcia is the traffic and congestion, the government team is cutting La Glorieta the budget for transportation.

Socialist Councilman José Manuel Abellán report insists that "the situation of public transport in the town is getting worse."

Unification of tariffs (ticket only once, and too many commercials).

Improved lines with higher frequencies and schedules.

Download the bill (we have the most expensive rates in Spain).

Reforming districts stops to be accessible.

Reinforce certain routes during peak hours.

Implement at certain locations (university, La Arrixaca, etc) hotlines.

Housing, no investment effort

Regarding housing, the mayor Marcos Ros highlights the City Council no effort to facilitate access to housing in the municipality.

Thus, the present socialist measures in the design and implementation of a Municipal Housing Plan with achievable objectives in the short, medium and long term, available to families in the county adequate soil at no cost, and capable of ensuring access to social housing to 10,000 families in the next 4 years.
