The City of Murcia, at the request of the Directorate General of Heritage, moved last December 11 to the concessionaire of the works of St. Stephen the requirement to keep pumping and drainage systems at the site, as a precaution in situations weather.
The Directorate General of Heritage informed the City of Murcia then the need to maintain these systems to prevent accumulation of rainwater in the excavation.
In this way, it protected the Palacio de San Esteban in the event of significant rainfall.
Before the rain storm to strike the region, such systems have been duplicated, which would further reinforce protection in the reservoir.
