The University of Murcia, through its Theatre Group, will pay tribute to playwright Alberto González Vergel.
Will be next Tuesday December 15th, the date that marks 60 years of the first performance conducted by Theatre Group said in a ceremony to be held starting at 20:30 h.
in the hall of the College Máiquez Azarbe Isidoro.
The initiative will feature Cesar Oliva, Professor of Theatre, Antonio Morales, Professor at the ESAD, Francisco Flores, a professor at the University of Murcia and Lavella Concha, director of the Theatre Group of the center.
The event will proceed with the presentation of the volume-document containing the second part of the activities carried out by elAula University Theatre at the twentieth anniversary of its establishment (2001-2009).
A little history
Fu namely December 15, 1949 when it was held at the University of Murcia the premiere of "The Emperor Jones", one of the first plays the Nobel Prize in literature, Eugene O'Neill, which was staged by the Teatro Universitario de Murcia.
The representation was directed by Alberto González Vergel, who continued to front TEU Murcia University for five years, making several productions of works by writers like Anouihl, Tennessee Williams or Molière.
González Vergel is currently considered the dean of Spanish theater directors and conducting pioneering television drama, with a career that spans more than 80 theatrical performances and numerous achievements for the area of TVE "Studio 1".
