48 students working in the construction of the Local Police Headquarters in La Alberca (11/12/2009)

The first phase of the Workshop School building the Local Police Headquarters in La Alberca has come to an end.

48 students working in the school workshop for building the local police station in La Alberca and at the same time learn a trade.

This initiative is part of the programs of the Department of Youth and Employment, headed María Dolores Sánchez.

Specifically, 7 students are trained in masonry, welding, tiling 7, 8 carpentry, 8 locks and aluminum, 10 plumbing and electricity, and 8 are devoted to comprehensive maintenance of gardens.

These students are between 16 and 25 and are unemployed.

This initiative is intended that these young students are trained, while learning a trade, to improve their qualifications and meet the labor market.

The first phase of this project includes the construction of the structure, which is now complete.

The local police station being built on city-owned parcel located between the street Carlos Valcárcel in La Alberca and the motorway.

The headquarters has an area of 2,473 square meters, distributed in the basement, ground floor and three floors.

For the construction of this infrastructure has been used 3,300 tons of concrete, 105 tons of rebar, 1,400 square meters of plaster ceilings, 1,400 square feet of veneer facade with natural stone (travertine) and 1,200 square meters of marble tiles , among many other materials.

The building is accessible for people with reduced mobility and has systems to save water and energy.

This Training Workshop is subsidized by the city of Murcia and the Regional Employment Service and Training of the region.
