Pedro Saura Valcárcel accused of being complicit in the works of St. Stephen "by greed and arrogance of the People's Party (09/12/2009)

The secretary general of PSRM-PSOE, Pedro Saura, accused the president of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, of being complicit in what is happening in the archaeological works in the Garden of San Esteban.

"An accomplice is due to the arrogance that the Popular Party, with its absolute majority, which is capable of putting the interests of the generals to prevent the preservation of our history and our heritage," said Saura.

"In addition to the arrogance, Valcárcel and the Popular Party are only driven by greed and short-term benefit, and I demand to halt the work and explain to citizens what is behind their policy choices that threaten our heritage ".

Given this situation, the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia will go to court, will file a complaint with the ordinary courts, "because this region does not deserve what is happening.

"I'm sure the authorities would not be acting like you are doing here, what we live in Murcia, where greed and arrogance are the policy decisions that move."

Independent experts

The PSRM-PSOE regional government today demanded the suspension of the works of St. Stephen's parking according to the laws of the State and National Heritage of the Autonomous Region and to request reports from the independent experts at the University of Murcia and the Academies of History.
