The University of Murcia has presented today at the building of convalescence, home of the Rector, an online television (TV.UM) and an institutional channel within the video website YouTube.

TV.UM is a self-produced channel to broadcast live events to occur in the University and recorded seminars, conferences and events of the institution, which is housed in an audiovisual archive of the channel.

In addition, the television from the University teaching will support recording, editing and storage of lessons, courses and video tutorials in all areas of knowledge.

In this regard, the Vice Chancellor for Economic and Infrastructure, Antonio Calvo-Flores, announced that the University of Murcia will make an investment close to one million euros to install, in all centers, necessary infrastructure so that it can, via videoconference and from anywhere in the world, attend a class, attend a conference or do a science demonstration.

Complementing TV.UM has been created in the popular video website YouTube, a channel (www.youtube.com / universidaddemurcia) to spread the day to day activity with the highest quality picture and sound available in the Network

In this network, will place news, press conferences, seminars, institutional events and visits of officials and prominent personalities to occur every week, and includes interviews and reports.

The videos are categorized and users can subscribe to the channel to keep you informed by email each time we release a new video.

Users can also, thanks to the interactivity of YouTube, commenting on the news, rate them, tag or recommend your favorite videos on social networks like Facebook or Tuenti.

The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, said in a presentation by the University of Murcia "could not be alien to the Internet and its enormous potential" and that these channels of communication "gives voice to the university community", while that "project the corporate image of the institution of a dynamic and innovative."

These communication tools have been managed by the University Authorities and Infrastructure Economics and International Relations and Communication, whose senior managers, Antonio Calvo-Flores and Maria Ángeles Esteban, were present at the presentation ceremony.
