New access to the south of the Campus de Espinardo, principals and shot (25/11/2009)

Tomorrow will be opened to traffic the new road will provide access to the south the Espinardo Campus of the University of Murcia, the Science Park, urbanization and the polygon Rectors Shot.

This road joins the new roundabout built in Avenida Juan Carlos I, at the height of the Iberdrola electric substation, with the new roundabout built on the bittersweet road after the flyover over the highway of Cartagena.

The road has three lanes in each direction of traffic, landscaped median and bike lanes, with a total length of 950 meters.

The new road has roundabouts to perform all the twists and access to existing streets.

Roundabouts have decorations, artificial turf, and trees of the species Callistemon Viminallis.

They have planted a total of 89 trees of this species, and approximately 2,500 square feet of artificial turf.

Burying power lines

For the construction of this road has been necessary to bury a lot of overhead lines, including four high voltage lines (called South Molina, Molina, and Campus Cotillas Towers, each 20 KV) and its derivatives to the industrial zone that exists north of the road and toward urbanization Rectors, eliminating a total of 12 air support.

For the layout of the new venue run three power lines (called El Palmar - Espinardo 1, El Palmar - Espinardo 2 and El Palmar - Espinardo 3, each of 132 KV).

The three lines starting from the electrical substation is in Juan Carlos I and two of them cross the highway, and the third turns to the south to Bittersweet Road.

The City Council has built the necessary underground infrastructure for the burial of these lines, to be performed when the City sign the cooperation agreement with Iberdrola, the owner of the lines.

Also, given the proximity of the Los Guiding has chosen to put some noise barriers to protect them from excessive noise due to the new traffic that is generated by the new venue.

The screens are transparent to avoid noise disturbance at home while retaining visual perspective from the application.

Crosswalks in the new venue have been placed buttons for pedestrians.

All traffic lights are installed incorporate LED technology.

Banners were also placed signage indicating the possible directions for the guidance of vehicles.

The new road has 52 lamps with 250 W lamps, 5 lamps with lamps of 150 W and 400 W. 20 projectors

The new road has been funded by the Local Investment Fund.
