Councilwoman Maria Dolores Abellon socialist on the verge of the fifth anniversary of the enactment of that law, defend a motion urging the Government fully national, regional and the Municipality of Murcia to continue applying all possible resources to support women victims gender violence, especially in education
The PSOE mayor María Dolores Abellon file a motion in the plenary on Thursday to urge the Government to national, regional and local level to continue applying all possible resources to support women victims of gender violence.
In this sense, Abellon special emphasis on the role of education in this matter.
"Education in values and equal opportunities for men and women in education is essential to raise awareness among young people against such violence."
Motion
"It is time to recognize what it's supposed to Spanish society the Law against Gender Violence and also, why not, its global significance," said Abellon, who notes that "despite how much gotten much work to do, not only in Spain but in Europe and many countries around the world.
Therefore, the PSOE mayor will propose in full the following questions:
Urge the National Government to continue to implement expeditiously the Comprehensive Urgent Measures against Gender Violence.
Urge the loyal collaboration of the Autonomous Community and the city of Murcia with the National Government to ensure that, within their respective powers, available to women victims all possible resources, implementing final comprehensive support network and support to women victims of violence, with no differences across the country.
Collaborate with the Ministry and the Ministry of Education to promote educational measures, through school councils and with the AMPAS, concerning equal opportunities between men and women and, in particular, aimed at sensitizing the younger against Gender Violence.
Working in unity to that among all citizens can achieve eradication of gender violence in our society by promoting specific programs to address the issue of women in situations of particular vulnerability in this county.
Promote the City Council specific programs and activities for raising awareness of gender violence through groups and youth associations.
Platforms encourage men and women together against gender violence.
Other proposals
Finally, the PSOE mayor recalls other motions that the Socialist Party has raised a whole on this issue, such as the introduction of a single phone number, specialized and free, the 016, to serve women victims of violence gender and lacreación a special police unit home against sexist violence.
Abellon-end proposals, which the municipal PP not aproved in full, but then, it has been launched.
