As spokesperson and founder of Facebook group "Protect the archaeological remains of San Esteban (Murcia), composed at the time of this writing more than 3,000 members, we wish to express:
1 that the collection of archaeological finds from the Islamic period that have appeared on the occasion of the excavation of the parking lot of San Esteban constitute a finding of enormous value, as they have expressed different experts in the field as co-director of the excavation and Professor del Toro , among others.
2 nd That the excavation work should be directed towards optimal viewing and appreciation of ALL found and what they might encounter.
3 º that the uniqueness of the find, its length and complexity, expected to require deeper study and analysis in order to achieve a full level of knowledge.
4 That all archaeological material that can be achieved and that it is achieving should remain in its original location and location, and those other debris musealization as vases, ornaments, etc.. ...
5 That should be devised, with time and rigor required, a public process of proposing ideas to select the global intervention, complete and final best to allow the use and enjoyment of both the excavation and the set of the entire public space .
6 That we reject absolutely the possibility to remove the archaeological remains for relocation as expressed in this regard Julio Navarro (Director of Center for Arabic Studies in Granada), Felix Santiuste (Architect and Ex - Director General of equity), Enrique de Andrés (Heritage Committee of the College of Architects) and Javier García del Toro (Professor of Medieval History at the University of Murcia)
7 º What we are opposed to changing the dimension of what was found.
