The Board of the Town Planning Department has approved this morning the General Plan amendment to allow construction of a Convention Centre Juan Carlos I, Avenue corner with the new Kingdom of Murcia.
The Convention Centre will be located in a large green space of 120,000 square meters, and will occupy 40,000 square meters.
This is a general infrastructure and of great interest for the municipality of Murcia Murcia because it involves consolidating as a congress city and increase the capacity to bring events, increasing visits, hotel occupancy and employment in restaurants.
The new Congress will be very well served by its proximity to Juan Carlos I, Juan de Borbon, the Kingdom of Murcia Avenue and the freeway.
The Consistory has approved the advance of General Plan amendment, without presenting any argument, and has now gone a step further by adopting initially the General Plan amendment that will allow construction of the Palace in the space.
The initial approval of the amendment shall be subject to approval by the plenary on Thursday, will be published in BORM and citizens will have a deadline for submissions.
Once settled the allegations, and with the necessary technical reports, is provisionally approved and sent the case to the Autonomous Community, which will be the final approval of the project.
