Since last September, the weekly markets held in the city of Murcia are safer and are more controlled by the launch of a special device to the local police in Murcia.

In the last week, the device was composed of 18 soldiers, has inspected a total of 12 markets and has acted for a total of 75 hours.

Early in reaching the markets to control the enforcement of the ordinance of squares and markets and punish those who are not licensed and, therefore, unfair competition are doing because they do not pay taxes or municipal taxes like the rest approved dealers.

The past week has detected the presence of nine stalls that were withdrawn by their owners before the sale and start to be located outside the market.

Thus, three complaints were also made by street vendors.

Another objective is to check compliance with the Law on Intellectual Property and punishing those who sell counterfeit or pirated CDs.

This special device shall ensure that no address means of egress for emergencies.

The campaign will also combat theft and other crimes that take place in the weekly markets.

In this sense, two people were arrested for robbery, another for being a crime against intellectual property and legal proceedings were opened by intellectual property crime but not arrested.
