The presentation allowed for suggestions on the project to neighbors and associations present at the Forum on Social Participation
The neighborhood's Holy Spirit will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment Espinardo thanks to Urban Plan, coordinating the Deputy Mayor, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin and Councilwoman European Programmes, Fatima Barnuevo.
This ambitious plan, which will improve the quality of urban environment and living conditions of citizens in the area, provides, inter alia, the construction of a sports hall, rehabilitation of the main public spaces in the neighborhood, the center expansion Social Services and the creation of a center of artistic and creative as well as a cultural incubator.
Barnuevo Pelegrín and went back to Social Participation Forum, composed of neighborhood residents and associations of the Holy Spirit to present the current status of the project, urban redevelopment under the Urban Plan and developments regarding the participation and to suggestions.
With regard to urban rehabilitation Barrio, Pelegrin and Barnuevo explained that the project will address measures for the reorganization and improvement of public spaces of the Holy Spirit and existing roads around the housing, a new distribution facilities and public buildings emblematic, as well as an increased presence of green areas, recreational facilities and coexistence.
It intends to open this urban space to the rest of the city making it an attractive, safe and healthy.
"The main activities in the phase of urban renewal are:
- Redesign of open-air auditorium in the Cultural Center environment, including the comprehensive reform of the garden and the closing of the environment.
- Renovation of the library and other departments of the Cultural Center.
- Construction of a sports hall for use, inter alia, of the two schools in the district.
- Construction of a center of artistic and creative and cultural business incubator, in order to provide the neighborhood of a space that fosters artistic production and facilitate the establishment exchange.
- Extension of the Social Services Centre North Murcia training and inclusion and integration activities.
- Renovation of the Public School facilities housed.
- Construction of a space for citizen participation which make giving advice, meeting space, training and guidance - labor.
- Reform of the plaza of the Constitution-possible image reconstruction.
- Active solar construction, carrying out design projects and mural paintings and other forms of urban intervention.
As a last item of the day, residents were informed on the conclusion of the First Meeting of Citizen Participation, not only open to groups that currently make up the Forum of Social Participation, but all the neighbors, and that will take place January.
The meeting will involve the implementation of a program of support and improvement of associations aimed at promoting the participation of citizens in the regeneration of the district at all stages: preparation of project monitoring and evaluation, and will create a stable structure partnerships beyond the project duration.
Participants will be divided into working groups for the axes of the URBAN project and the neighbors they can make contributions to the project and comment on municipal proposals, and to receive information and clarification on any aspect of the Urban Plan.
Urban project actions are structured around seven areas, namely: promotion of culture, information society, improving the urban environment, improving energy efficiency; social programs, social inclusion and citizen participation, development of the economic fabric and employment promotion, information and advertising, management, monitoring and evaluation of actions.
In addition, work on improving equal opportunities for all, training and information on environmental compliance and public participation.
