The Adventure Travel Celebrates Ten Years of fascinating experiences told by their protagonists (12/11/2009)

The program's Adventure Travel from the Department of Youth and Employment, headed María Dolores Sánchez, celebrating ten years of lectures and screenings in which the protagonists talk about exciting travels and experiences around the world.

To commemorate the tenth anniversary this year will feature Carmen Portilla, new director of 'The Edge of the impossible': the experience of Miguel Blanco, who has visited the most inhospitable places on the planet in search of exotic cultures and customs; Swiss Claude Marthaler, who has traveled the world by bicycle, and the film director Gerardo Olivares, who will present his film '14 km ', telling the reality of Africa.

Lectures and screenings will begin at 20.30 and admission is free.

The program is:

November 16, 'A world on the edge of the impossible' by Carmen Portilla.

November 23, 'The path of the gods' with Michael White.

24 November, 'Around the world by bike' with Claude Marthaler.

The series is coordinated by the president of the Adventure Murcia, Juan Francisco Cerezo, and has the support of the CAM.

The aim of these conferences is to show elements of other cultures, promoting respect, tolerance and solidarity.

In addition, evident in these talks geographical knowledge, historical, human and natural places unknown.

The philosophy behind this conference is to treat all types of adventure travel: hiking, biking, sea, air, literary, photographic, humanitarian, scientific, with the stories of its protagonists.

The talks have audiovisual reports, product of travel of the protagonists in different continents, with a target sports, cultural and social.

Likewise, find new ways to travel and get close to nature, known experiences, places, people and culture of other parts of the world through interactive images and comments, we propose new alternatives to free time contributing to cultural enrichment youth and learned to love and especially to respect the environment and international cultural expressions.

The talks usually last an hour and a half.

They begin with a presentation of the protagonist, the visitor has a visual or slides, talks about his experience and then held a discussion.

During the ten years he has launched this initiative more than 65 speakers participated in this conference, among them people like Miguel de la Cuadra-Salcedo, Chema Rodriguez, Chus Lago, Juan Francisco Cerezo, Javier Reverte, Alberto Vázquez-Figueroa , José Manuel Navia, César Pérez de Tudela, Blue in Action (Local Police Murcia), Paco Nadal, Jesus Torbado, Ana Padron, Cristina Morato, Kitín Muñoz, Carlos García-Gallego, Antonio Alpáñez, Edurne Pasabán, Mercè Martí, Fernando Sanchez-Drago, Luis Pancorbo, Cristina García Rodero, Eva Van den Berg and Gonzalo Azumendi, among many others.
