Great reception and success of public attendance at the ninth week of Science and Technology Region (08/11/2009)

The Ninth Week of Science and Technology, organized by the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research through the Seneca Foundation continues to grow in quality and this year is estimated to have enjoyed it more than 20,000 people a day.

The Garden of El Malecon in Murcia, has been the big stage of 20,000 square meters, 8,000 more than last year, which has hosted nearly 300 activities that have taken place and have had a great host of citizens, with a important participation of adults, youth and children.

Also, the first two days of shows were characterized by the visit of some 7,000 students from over 100 schools in the region, they could enjoy and participate in demonstrations, workshops, experiments, exhibitions, puppet theater and scientists, and activities scientific magic, science fun or visit the planetarium.

Also, this event of scientific commitment to internationalization and this year the UK as the guest, through his Oxford Science organization has submitted a business' giant ',' Engineering Oxford.

Building the city of Oxford ', in which the children have learned to construct buildings and have become architects.

The week also benefited from activities organized by the Agency for Science Viva Portugal.

The aim of this fair is to open more venues for meeting and participation of citizens in the scientific enterprise and to bridge the gap between those who do science and those who perceive through their daily life.

In addition, aims to create a culture of science, increase their social esteem, awareness of the essential role in everyday life and help encourage the vocation of young scientists.

Fair Week of Science and Technology will close its doors at 21:00.

Since last Thursday were carried out 300 popular science activities in the Garden of El Malecon, 47 institutions participated and has had 70 stands, five tents and six tents, a planetarium, a kindergarten science, a great stage for science theater and puppets, and a room dedicated to the development of plastics workshops aimed at children.
