More than two thousand people participate in the Youth Culture Festival Enter (08/11/2009)

Over two thousand people took part yesterday in the Enter Festival Youth Culture, organized by the Department of Youth and Employment, headed María Dolores Sánchez.

The objective of this initiative is about experiences and activities carried out within an innovative program called "Youth, Immigration and Participation ', which was launched a year ago with the aim of promoting social integration of young immigrants in municipality and prevent discriminatory and racist behavior.

The great festival was held yesterday, after 16 pm in the Plaza de la Universidad de Murcia.

The Festival involved different groups of young people, groups and associations working in the municipality to promote intercultural dialogue, social integration and civic participation.

Enter attendees Youth Culture Festival could enjoy different exhibition spaces for diversity with information and material from the different entities involved, and the presentation of the interactive exhibition 'Diversity in you,' Columbares Partnership initiative, in collaboration with Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Labour and Immigration.

Also conducted integrative leisure activities, games, shops and dynamic entertainment, craft workshops, etc.

Another paragraph has been devoted to the tastes and smells of the world to hear and taste foods and beverages from many places.

Activity was also "Cooking with Color World Young Women ', developed by the Foundation FADE.

In the stage erected in University Square dances were performed and shows several of the world of music.

In addition, María Dolores Sánchez presented the awards to the winners of the football competition.

The Great Festival ended with a presentation of songs from Africa DVD '100 'tenth anniversary concert of the Association Song Author Murcia (AMCA).

Two thousand young people have participated throughout the year in more than 30 activities within this program, and 70 -20 of these entities are associations or groups of immigrants, have contributed to its development.

The result of the experiences of this project, the council also works for Health and Social Services and a number of youth organizations, cultural and social aspects of town, has produced the document 'talk of integration', in which more than 100 young people from 12 different nationalities in various meetings and training sessions of debate, have defined the word integration.

Also, it has created a DVD to raise awareness of youth integration with an overview of the project and two video documentaries on two cross-cultural activities undertaken.

The DVD has been produced by young people.

Both the document 'Let's talk about integration' as the DVD-raising will be used as teaching tools in conducting seminars, workshops, schools, youth centers and associations.
