The Speaker and the Socialist councilor and José María José Alarcón Manuel Abellán, after meeting with the Director General of Culture of the Autonomous Region, once again stress the need to preserve our historical heritage.
Abellán Alarcón and in the meeting held this morning with Henry Ujaldón, have told the Director General of Culture concerns about the way that they can run the remains found in the excavation prior to construction of the underground parking of San Esteban.
The Socialist mayors have returned to defend, to who makes the decision on the future of our heritage, the need to recover the findings in the area and create a large open archaeological park in the heart of the city of Murcia.
"We are confident that the Department will appreciate the importance of the decision to take, and trust in the sensibility of Henry Ujaldón given its relevance to the capital of the region to prevent the destruction, once again, their identity and what this might entail, both in the cultural aspect, as in our economic development. "
M ª José Alarcón, said that "there is still time to save this space for future progress of our city," asked the mayor to "reconsider the location of parking, and makes it compatible with the maintenance and enhancement of Murcia's history. "
"This is an opportunity not to be missed to promote wealth and employment, repeating Murcia's tourist image."
