Controls on water sources, lakes and sports facilities (14/10/2009)

The lakes and municipal sources will be subject to checks and cleaning to keep them in top condition.

The work to be performed are daily cleaning of leaves, plastic, bottles or any object floating on the lake or source.

Clear the ponds and fountains at least once a month.

The lakes are cleaned twice a year vacuum, collecting the fish, cleaning the mud, the walls and repairing geysers.

It also will mark the cleaning protocol sources from the Ministry of Health.

In the warmer months from May to October, water weekly to discuss their characteristics and learn to control legionella.

Perfect performance will be monitored from all sources and lakes, conservation of the hydro plants both preventative and corrective, conservation and maintenance of electrical installations, checking periodically to ensure safety.

In addition, preservation and maintenance of buildings and premises of the lakes and sources (wells, pump rooms, control stations ...), the pipes will be painted once a year with layers of protection against corrosion, the pipes will be cleaned and adjusted the height of the jets of water, keep the pictures of machines in perfect condition and will be painted at least once a year.

With this project the City Council intended that the fountains and lakes of the city are always in the best conditions.

The company in charge of this work is Delta Hydraulics Gardening and Golf, SL

The City will invest 111,360 euros in this project.

Sports facilities

In addition, the Consistory controls all sports facilities in order to prevent legionellosis.

This is a practice that is done periodically to allow users to play sport with total confidence.

The control consists of cleaning, servicing and disinfection of facilities.

Also, there will be analytic to know the status of hot water, cold water for human consumption and cooling systems and irrigation.

The Governing Board has awarded this work to Labaqua, SA with an investment of 95,140 euros.
