The research group in Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology (FISPAC), University of Murcia, Faculty of Chemistry and the Vice President for University Extension join the European numerous events during the week of 12 to 16 October with different activities will commemorate the centennial of the discovery of cosmic rays, resulting in the modern astroparticle physics.
Cosmic rays are tiny particles from space.
Generated inside stars and other cosmic objects, come to Earth to provide valuable information in the universe.
The centenary of the astroparticle physics
The International Year of Astronomy marks, besides the 400 anniversary of Galileo's astronomical observations, the centenary of the beginning of a new era in astronomy: the first experiments that led to the discovery of cosmic rays.
To celebrate this centenary scientific, physical, ten European countries will celebrate the First European Week of Astroparticle, which reveal to the public the most exciting mysteries of the universe.
Murcia is a Spanish city to celebrate a century after the discovery of cosmic rays, resulting in the modern astroparticle physics.
