Influenza A is an infection caused by a new subtype of influenza virus against which, precisely because it is new, we are not immunized.

It is spread from person to person, primarily through the air in droplets of saliva, and symptoms such as high fever, malaise, headache, sore throat, muscle pain, runny nose and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea.

The virus lives in the hands of several minutes on hard surfaces (tables) over a day and fabrics, paper and tissues for several hours.

The contagious period is from 24 hours before the start of the first symptoms, 5 to 7 days later.

To prevent the spread must be taken to wash hands frequently, cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough with a tissue and then throw it away, avoid kissing and close contact, avoid sharing glasses, cutlery, etc.

And sleep well, eat a healthy diet, drink water, avoid alcohol and snuff and exercise.

If infected, you have to follow doctor's orders and stay at home until the fever is gone.

In addition, the talk has spoken of the vaccine and antivirals and other medications.

The Surgeon General has made clear that this is a new virus strain, which mainly affects young people, with symptoms very similar to conventional flu that causes a low mortality.

According to the information being handled is not likely that the viruses cause epidemics.

In addition, vaccines are administered to persons who are in risk groups and healthy young women pregnant.
