The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, announced this morning that the Cabinet has taken account of the emergency actions necessary to stabilize a slope clearing, located on the left bank of the A-30, address Murcia, at kilometer 153 (Puerto de la Cadena).
The budget for these projects amounts to EUR 1,477,306.11.
Tovar Gonzalez recalled that the March 29, 2009 there were several landslides and rock fragments in the slope of the A-30, probably caused by the intensity of rainfall.
In order to preserve the safety of road users, Development decided to act immediately to repair the slope, by emergency procedure, which requires subsequent approval of the Council of Ministers.
At first proceeded to cleaning materials, to the release of the guide screens and mesh placement simple and triple twist.
In addition, it commissioned a geotechnical report to the laboratory of the Centre for Studies and Experimentation of Public Works (CEDEX), whereby it was considered necessary to undertake the following main actions that began last August and have an expected performance 5 months:
Granular material filling the bowl located at the foot of clearance to cushion potential falls, laying cable network in different parts of the slope, excavation of existing mounds that can potentially lead to future landslides, placement of dynamic barriers in different parts of the slope; cleaning of ditches and existing guidance mesh, reinforcement and wall screeds, conducts an access road for the execution of works.
This work has been structured into four lots so that they can be performed by specialized companies.
Lot 1 is for the excavation of mounds and Lot 2 to the signal during construction.
Both actions have already been made.
They are currently running jobs in banks (Lot 4), and is awaiting execution, the reinforcement of the wall of gabions (Lot 3).
